Ellepots: What are they and why do we use them?

Our hazelnuts are grown using an innovative technology that promotes aggressive root systems. They are planted in paper-filled cells, which are known as Ellepots inside of a specially designed Air Tray. The Air Tray has some open space around each Ellepot, which enables fibrous roots to penetrate the paper cell, allowing them to develop extensive root systems. Most of our hazelnuts are grown in 80mm x 160mm Ellepots (three inch x six inch) which are in 10 cell Air Trays.
